Broadacres Housing Association provides a comprehensive range of services to almost 5,000 homes in North Yorkshire. Established in 1993 the Association has grown both in terms of the number of properties it manages and its awareness of the needs and aspirations of its customers. Broadacres operates under charitable rules and has a governing body of twelve volunteers including four tenants of the association.

As North Yorkshire covers such a wide geographical area we are keen to find sub-contractors and suppliers convenient to the projects we tackle within the Framework. The reasons for doing this are not altruistic, but are based on solid business sense.
Local people have less distance to travel and do not need to pay overnight lodging to their operatives. This results in cheaper prices and is more environmentally friendly, as fuel usage and particulate emissions are kept to a minimum.
We also believe that timekeeping is better and there is less likelihood of absenteeism. We further believe that individuals working in the local community take greater pride in their workmanship and that the quality of the finished building benefits from this.
Whist the above is of paramount importance to us, merely having the right postcode is not enough. We need businesses that have the right levels of resources for our needs and that these resources have the right skill sets. We need people who are comfortable with the ethos of collaboration and partnering.

Tarmac National Contracting is the company's construction and contracting division and is the largest surfacing contractor in the UK laying over 3.5 million tonnes of asphalt per annum. With over 100 years experience in the industry, Tarmac are able to offer a contracting service for all aspects of pavement construction, maintenance and related civil engineering works. In North Yorkshire we have the capacity to supply and lay all types of quarry materials via our wide spread of units throughout the area.
